What is the ideal source format for mastering and in which format will you receive your mastered material ?

We recommend you send us your files as a WAV or AIFF format at sample rates of 44.1 kHz (CD quality) or higher and with a 24 bit resolution.

There are several free programs to convert CD to WAV: e.g. Switch for Windows, see www.nch.com.au/switch or SoX Wrap for Apple/Macintosh, see www.waveformsoftware.com/SoX_Wrap/soxwrap.htm

Bear in mind that the higher the resolution and sampling rate, the longer the upload time (between 8 to 30 minutes each song depending on your connection speed).

MP3

Some people like to use MP3 for listening and for sharing music with mp3 players, IPods, etc. If you are looking to master your music professionally then don't send mp3's off for mastering.

The problem is that MP3 is a lossy data compression process and thus, not ideal as source material.

If you want to supply us with MP3 files anyway, that's fine, but please make sure that they are encoded at least at 192 kbit/sec (stereo).  Lower bit rates will be counter-productive.

Finally, you will receive your mastered materials according to your choice:

A) Via downloads (.Wav or .Aiff)

B) 44.1 kHz / 16 bit by default (other sampling rates and resolutions are optional)

C) Master CD delivered by mail (There is a minimum charge for this). FedEx & UPS.
